With all of the demands placed on 24 / 7 / 365 control rooms, you need to ensure that the functionality of the work spaces facilitate an efficient and safe work environment. Each task that is completed within a modern control room is very important. The demands of extended work-shift scheduling adds to the importance of the overall control room design.

Kelmatix can help you plan your control room to provide an ergonomically sound design which enhances the operational effectiveness of this highly interactive environment by addressing the needs of each work task.

The following paragraphs provide an operational framework in which we harness your current knowledge of the operations performed within your particular control room together with the plans and requirements for the future, to which we apply the correct solutions, which culminates in the optimal control room design:

Project Kick-Off
From the start, we will bring the toolset to bring together all of the disciplines required to move forward in the planning process. Identification of the stake-holders and decision makers is the key to success. From here, we develop the customized project plan, identifying each player's role in the processes to come.

Data Gathering
Through probing interviews and work flow documentation, we develop a data set that will be used in developing a solid foundation for building the control room of your future. Detailed task documentation, interaction and affinities mapping, as well as future control room operational plans are gathered and verified.

Data Analysis and Review
The data amassed up to this point is analyzed to paint a picture of the needs to be fulfilled during the design stage. Review of this data with all stake-holders ensures the validity and completeness of this data set.

Design
With strict adherance to the foundations built to this point, we bring in state of the art solutions to design a safe, functional and efficient control room design centered on your needs. At our disposal are industry trends in operator stress and fatigue reduction, proven ergonomic and safety standards and industry tested innovative solutions. As there may be several ways to solve any problem, we strive to look at the design in several different ways so we can arrive at the best design for your unique needs.

You also play a role in the design process. We don't walk away only to emerge later with a take it or leave it design recommendation. At key points in this process we will need to review with you where we're heading so that all players are kept in the know.

Design and Recommendations Review
We review the design with you and your team that was derived through this interactive, iterative and validated process. Since you and your team have been on this journey with us, you will be confident in the solutions recommendations and have a road map to the future!

Solutions Selections
Through group discussions, we will re-visit the design criteria and determine a final list of solutions that fit your needs and budget.

Roadmap Development and Report Generation
With a plan and a budget in hand, we can now develop the roadmap to get you from where you are now to where you want to be in the future. This strategic plan can be implemented in the short-term or by using a phased approach stretched over many years. The important thing is that you will know where you are headed.
